And here I thought I was uncharacteristically bitchy in my stream-of-consciousness post on PG;-)

I shall miss Media Money and The Wire, and Axegrinder/Grey Cardigan might have given me a few good laughs, but that's about it. I also anjoyed Fleet Street 2.0 and how PG for a time there brought in media bloggers to write, like Andrew Grant-Adamson, Adrian Monck, yourself I believe and Linda Jones - but that's been gone for some time already. The rest, as you say, is mostly also available from other sources.

However, I hardly have a relationship to the print edition of PG at all. We were told to read it while I was at City (2000-02), but it never became a habit for me. When a mentor of mine was dying late 2005 he told me to check for a notice of his St Bride's memorial service in PG, but either my search skill were crap or it wasn't online (I was just back in Norway by then, so couldn't get it at the news agent and don't think I could afford to take out a subscription) - but luckily his journo friends kept me in the loop. All in all, I don't think I started reading PG regularly until Martin Stabe joined the second time, and then only online.

Oh, and we started talking about lung cancer on Twitter the other day, same mentor, I had to log off to finish a few deadlines so late seeing your reply, though feels a bit rude to leave it hanging in the air. I'm sorry you had a similar experience to mine: it's a disease I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy and it's pretty tough for those near and dear to stand by and watch as well.
